Tai Chi and Qi Gong Classes

 Awaken your energy, strengthen your body, and calm your mind.

Tai Chi (Taijiquan) is a centuries-old Chinese internal martial art known for its slow, flowing movements, deep breathing, and meditative focus. Originally developed for self-defense, it has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that promotes physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. In this class, we explore Tai Chi as both a gentle movement practice and a path to overall well-being.

Each session begins with light warm-ups and joint-loosening exercises (called Qigong), designed to awaken the body, release tension, and open energy channels. We then move into learning and practicing traditional Tai Chi forms—slow, intentional sequences of postures that build strength, improve coordination, and encourage deep relaxation. Throughout the class, we emphasize posture, body alignment, breathing techniques, and mindfulness.

Classes are $15 each, or can be purchased a month at a time for $10 each

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a powerful mind-body practice rooted in ancient Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy. It combines gentle, flowing movements with deep breathing, intention, and meditative awareness to cultivate and balance Qi—the vital life energy that flows through the body.

In this class, you'll be guided through accessible exercises that awaken your body’s energy, improve circulation, release tension, and calm the nervous system. We’ll explore standing, seated, and sometimes walking movements designed to harmonize body and mind. Movements are slow, rhythmic, and easy to follow, making Qigong ideal for all ages and fitness levels—no previous experience is needed.

Each session includes:

Breathwork to calm the mind and restore inner balance
Gentle movement sequences to open the body and support energy flow
Stillness and standing meditation to anchor the nervous system
Guided relaxation to leave you refreshed and grounded
